Welcome to our Featured Wine Series! Each month Damian will profile a different Doffo wine, giving you a little bit of back story about the winemaking process, what to expect when you taste it, and what kinds of foods to pair it with. We hope you enjoy and visit us in Temecula soon to learn more about our handcrafted wines! Our featured wine of the month for June is the 2014 Salute!
Some occasions in life call for a toast! That’s why we first created our Salute blend back in 2012. This blend is a composition of 72% Petite Sirah and 28% Malbec, which offers a unique flavor component. Which could have something to do with our longtime wine members requesting a second release of this blend! We decided to happily oblige them with our 2014 Salute. This is a bold, powerful wine with the varietal characteristics of the Petite Sirah and Malbec really showcasing themselves not only in the color hue, but on the palate as well.
The boisterous structure develops firm tannins on the mid palate that hang on the tongue through the entire sip. This wine is bold and best paired grilled meats and other robust foods. What this wine really pairs best with however is a night of dancing, laughing and great memories with friends and loved ones! Grab a bottle and hit the dance floor, with our 2014 Salute!
