Branden Teegardin currently works with the tasting room staff as a cashier and also assists our Merchandise Manager. We caught up with Branden to find out more about his background and what he hopes to accomplish here at Doffo Winery. Where are you from?
My name is Branden Ray Teegardin and I was born in Yuma, AZ. I’ve lived in Costa Mesa, Pacific Beach, Pearl City,HI, and Haymarket,VA.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my 2 cats (Jerry and Athena), my girlfriend Alex, and riding motorcycles, bicycles, and longboards.
When did you first become interested in wine?
I first became interested in wine when I started working here at the age of 17.
Describe what it’s like to work in the wine industry and how you came to work at Doffo.
It is extremely fun working in the wine industry. I love all of my coworkers, enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery, interacting with people from different areas, and not many people are in a bad mood when they are out drinking wine. I was introduced to working here through a friend who used to work here.
What is it like to work with the Doffo family?
It is exciting working with the Doffo family. They have a lot of knowledge about wine and motorcycles which are two things that I am passionate about. The Doffo family is welcoming, funny, and knowledgeable.
What is your favorite part of what you do at Doffo?
Currently my favorite part of what I do at Doffo is organize our merchandise in the tasting rooms.
What upcoming wine releases are you most looking forward to?
Being 20 years old I am not able to drink alcohol, but I am looking forward to our 2018 Royal Tinto release because I love the label on that bottle.
What is your favorite meal / Doffo wine combo?
My favorite meal is a bone-in Ribeye cooked Pittsburgh style with asparagus and green beans.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I genuinely enjoy everything about my job, from the people I work with to the tasks that I must complete. I can’t say that I have dreaded going to work.
