On Saturday, May 30th, we held our 2nd annual MotoDoffo Kurt Caselli Foundation Fundraiser. We would love to share a recap of the event and the results that came out of this year’s fundraiser. Over 500 Caselli fans showed up to Doffo Winery in support of the Foundation. Guests were greeted with tons of rare and beautiful bikes throughout the Doffo grounds, and many local motorcycle companies were set up in a vendor row to show their wares and support the event.
Local rock band WineBrew performed a killer show out on our new Event Piazza, where guests could get a bite from The Bank mexican food or 3rd Street Smokehouse barbecue and relax in the shade. The MotoBarrel Room, where we age our wines and store bikes from the MotoDoffo Vintage Motorcycle Collection, was converted into a movie theater for the day. Guests were treated to special screenings of Caselli 66: Ride the Dream, BAJA 1000: The New Era of SCORE, and On Any Sunday: The Next Chapter.
Attendees were able to purchase raffle tickets to win some rider’s gear and gifts from all of our vendors and sponsors. All proceeds from the gate fees, raffle tickets and auctions go to the Kurt Caselli Foundation. Auction prizes included a Kurt Caselli jersey, some riding gear from Roland Sands Designs, and a 6 liter quadruple magnum bottle of Doffo wine. This one-off bottle of wine was etched with the design from this year’s tribute bottle, and after a heated bidding war went to SCORE International’s Roger Norman.
This was our second year making a limited edition Kurt Caselli Foundation tribute wine. This year’s bottle contains our Rosso blend, which is a delicious blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. We designed the label with Kurt’s likeness, and we hope that everyone who purchased a bottle will look at it and remember him not only for his accomplishments in racing, but also as a great human being. The 2nd edition tribute wine is still available for purchase online or in our tasting room. We also still have a few 1st and 2nd edition Collectors Packs available.
At the end of the day we were able to raise over $15,000 for the Kurt Caselli Foundation! We are so thankful for everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event a success. Of course we couldn’t have done it without the support of KTM North America, FMF Racing, and the Kurt Caselli Foundation, and all of the support and generosity of our vendors and sponsors. And to everyone who attended, we thank you for your support, and we want you to know that your contributions will help make off-road racing a safer sports for everyone involved.
